our team

Vision. Direction. Purpose. Education.

No matter which class you take, you’ll be riding with some of the top instructors on the East Coast. And that instructor will provide you with a road map and the tools you need to get where you are going on your RIDE™.

Every single team member at RIDE™ is a Mad Dogg Athletics Spinning® certified instructor – current in our certification and current in our education. Our team is more than just a group of instructors. They are ambassadors of the RIDE™ brand, intent on sharing the Spinning® message with all who walk through our doors. ‘Nuff said.

We are moms, painters, photographers, personal trainers, nurses, computer programmers, triathletes, weekend warriors, physiologists, roadies, and CrossFit and yoga practitioners. We are almost fanatical for Train, needtobreathe, Bon Jovi, and any classic rock but we also can’t get enough of Darius Rucker, Patrick Davis, and Michael Franti. We like to throw down to some serious mashups and we’ll give you a heavy dose of techno, dance, trance and club music. You’ll hear a bunch of Buddha Bar and world music but we’re also not shy about our Lady Gaga and Sister Sledge (you know you love it.)

Alice Keeney

If you have checked out the images that surround you when you walk in our front door, you were probably thinking, “Whoa. Who took that?” It was Alice. Talented doesn’t even begin to describe her.
More about Alice…

She is a visionary and she is loving and she is someone you’ll be proud to say that you know. Her travels around the world, including regular trips to South Africa, have molded her as a world citizen and she threads that global awareness into her rides. She is our resident soccer expert and photographic genius. Check out her work at www.alicekeeneyphotography.com.

Allyson Carter

Have you ever met someone so fierce that just being next to them made you feel stronger? If so, then you know why Allyson is amazing. She is a quiet storm, full of passion and strength and she shares it. Ride with her and instantly gain more muscles.
More about Allyson…

She loves to laugh, especially at her own jokes. She’s always got a story to tell and it usually revolves around music, family, or the FORCE Spinning® bike from Josh Taylor she won at the 2011 World Spinning® and Sports Conference. Allyson will empower you to do more than you thought you could, and just when you think you’re done, she loads on another layer and brings you along with her to the glorious finish! We think she was born on a Spinning® bike – can I get an AMEN!

Anne Ahern Moore

We get a little nervous around Anne because she’s so darn smart with a list of credentials that will make your head spin (ha! no pun intended! well, ok, maybe…). She can be deceivingly quiet and reserved until her legs hit the pedals, especially when she’s juiced up on Kombucha and wearing her Trek kit.
More about Anne….

Clout is her middle name when it comes to cycling because she does it all: she’s got an M.S. in Physiology from MUSC and is also a Certified Wellness Coach. The rest we’ll just list so you can keep it all straight:

  • B.S. Biology, College of Charleston
  • Owner of Anne Moore Endurance Coaching
  • USA Triathlon Certified Coach
  • USA Cycling Certified Coach
  • Adjunct Professor of Anatomy and Physiology, Trident Technical College, Charleston, SC
  • Exercise Physiologist, FitMed Partners, Charleston, SC

She’s your “go-to” girl for metabolic testing and all the Charleston RIDE instructors do their tests with her. Check out her very cool blog at www.annemoorecoaching.com with all kinds of info on all things cycling including events. Be warned, if you find yourself in a dark alley with Anne debating anything about exercise physiology, you will eat crow and humble pie at the same time because she will out-talk, out-reference, and out-explain any and all of us anyday!

Brooks Bostick

Brooks is one of two fantastic Roadies at RIDE. What the heck is a Roadie, you ask? Well, we kind of think the term “front desk staff’ is so yesterday and icky. Our Roadies are our support system, our voice, our front line and are part of the RIDE™ ambassador team. Their goal is to deliver service, people, in every way possible. ‘Nuff said.
More about Brooks…

When we went searching for our first Roadies, we weren’t too sure what we would find. After all, our standards are pretty high, and we can’t have just ANYONE touching the Spinner® Blades, chillin’ with our cool customers, or calming Luciana and Rebecca down when we can’t figure out how to work something in the computer. No, sir! Enter Brooks Bostick. He had us at “Hello. I’m a Category 2 Cyclist.” Swoon! And guess what else….he’s the founder of a sports management company that is forming Charleston’s first Elite NRC cycling team. Um, yes please! Top it off with his Stephen-Wright-like humor (Oh, he’s sharp as a button, people), his incredibly convincing British accent, and his willingness to go above and beyond to get a job done right the first time, and we’ve got someone who belongs at RIDE™.
When he’s not fixing stuff we’ve broken, you can find him on his road bike, training for his next race, or learning all about how Spinning® was meant to be done. He has a love for anything and everything outside, coffee, cooking, healthy foods and old buildings (which is why he’s become our drill master, ’cause we don’t know the first thing about hanging stuff on brick walls.)

Catherine O’Sullivan

It has been written that there are people who can light up a room with their smile. We had never met one, and so we doubted that such a creature could possibly exist. And then we met Catherine.
More about Catherine…

She has an inner joy that radiates from her and makes you feel welcome and comfortable whether you’ve known her for one minute or one decade. Engage with her before class and you’ll have a friend for life. She’ll surprise you, though – she has a way of KYA (kickin’ your you-know-what) and you don’t even realize it until you’re halfway into class. She’s sweet but sassy and can bring it on faster than a freight train!

George Martin

George doesn’t really need an introduction, because everyone in Charleston knows and loves him. But since you might be new to the area, we’ll tell you why we think he’s great.
More about George…

It’s not just that he’s the guy responsible for bringing the first Spinning® program to the area. It also has nothing to do with his totally rockin’ playlists or his wonderfully warm personality. We love him because he is real. And since that is such a rare quality these days, we’re gonna keep him. You’ll always know where you stand with George. Trust us, he’ll let you know what he thinks, just try texting or talking on your phone in class. George’s favorite saying is “All you got is right now. You can’t change the past and you can’t control the future. The only thing you have is this moment, so take it in, baby.”

Kirsten Moran

Magnanimous, imaginative and sparkly, Kirsten is a creative dynamo! Whether she is cranking out paintings for a show, baking some whole grain deliciousness, or Spinning® tunes for her latest RIDE™ she is always making something amazing!
More about Kirsten…

She dj’d for her college radio station with the call name K Grave (graveyard shift) and briefly sang in a band (whose name we can not mention here). She knows the power of sound and motion. Music moves her, and coupled with ten years of Spinning experience under her belt, it will move you too!

Kirsten also works as a print designer for many national non-profits and is getting her MFA at Savannah College of Art and Design. You may see her in and out of her painting studio at Redux (www.reduxstudios.org), running around the streets of downtown Charleston as she trains for the Kiawah Half Marathon, or going for a bike ride with her family. You can view her paintings at www.kirstenmoran.com

Krista Leopold

One day she will be doing a book tour signing the latest copy of her novel. Krista is a mysteriously talented writer (we say mysterious because we never knew it until she started a blog some years ago). This articulate nature transposes into her rides seamlessly because holy smokes can she weave a story.
More about Krista…

She is best known for her Journey Ride called “The Sanctuary Ride” and we hope you’ll be among the lucky ones to experience it. She knows the Spinning® program inside and out and is a powerful voice and advocate for excellence in fitness instruction. She’s a mom and software engineer at SAIC and we’re so happy we get to have her to ourselves for a bit. She rocks, and we all want to be her when we grow up.

Luciana Marcial-Vincion, Spinning® Master Instructor

Incomparable. Phenomenal. Absolutely AWESOME. And these aren’t our words. This is what other riders AROUND THE WORLD say about her. They’re right of course. Because you don’t become responsible for shaping the entirety of the Spinning®International Master Instructor Team if you aren’t someone incredibly special.
More about Luciana…

Since you might have missed the really big deal we mentioned in the last sentence, we’ll state it another way: WE ARE THE HOME OF THE SUPREME LEADER OF THE SPINNING® PROGRAM, and we aren’t above bragging about it. We had to blackmail her to give us permission to say this stuff, because humility is her middle name. But she finally gave in and told us to go ahead and leverage her title for all it’s worth, as long as we leave her alone now. We’re not shy! Seriously, though, she has a Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology and has worked for Mad Dogg Athletics as an international presenter for the Spinning® program for 12 years. In that tenure she has trained thousands of Spinning® instructors, lectured at international and national fitness conferences, and has authored dozens of workshops. She loves the Spinning® program and plans to still be teaching when she’s a great-, great-grandma!

Morgan Tasca

Helen Keller said, “Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.” We couldn’t agree more, which is why we adore Morgan. She has this incredible knack for finding the best in every situation and she likes to make people laugh. We could use a few more folks like that in the world, are we right? More about Morgan…

She’s pursuing a degree in Exercise Science at College of Charleston because she likes to exercise for the fitness and health benefits. She aspires to help others live a healthy and happy lifestyle, so altogether now: HELL YEAH! Other fun stuff about Morgan? She loves animals, especially horses and her doberman puppy named Toby. In her spare time, she volunteers at a German Shepherd rescue in West Ashley. We are so proud to have her on the team!

Rebecca Young

Rebecca is a cyclist through and through. She is the backbone of RIDE™ and we wouldn’t change a thing about her. She gives 125% when she’s not even trying, but give her a cause like Pedal for Pattison’s and you’ll be blown away by what she can do.
More about Rebecca…

She’s a STAR 3 level Spinning® instructor who lives and breathes for the bike. She’s our resident George Lucas (or Steven Spielberg, we can’t decide) because she’s so darn brilliant when it comes to making videos and movies for our special events. Her classes reel you in to a world of imagination, focus, inspiration, and a whole lot of sweat.

Vatsa Shamanna

Vatsa is a precious jewel that we discovered while combing the sands of Sullivan’s Island. He is full of life and experiences that bring richness to our world and smiles to our faces. He’s a rare find, and we can’t imagine what our lives were like before we met him.
More about Vatsa….

Don’t worry if you can’t pronounce his name, sometimes we can’t either. Any of the following are acceptable: V, V-Dawg, Vodka, Vodi, Vossa, or you can call him by his stage name: Spiritual Gangsta! His Indian roots combined with his yoga wisdom have rendered a guru-like demeanor that makes us want to kneel and pray at his feet at times. Don’t worry you won’t have to kneel, just get on the bike and ride with him and you’ll see what we mean. PS – he’s also a video and website genius. Half the time it’s as if he’s speaking another language with all that technology talk, so we just nod our heads and say “Yup, sounds good!”

Dan Boland

With a background rooted in athletics, Dan is a natural when it comes to coaching. He has this ability to motivate through kindness and by making others believe that they can become an even better version of the themselves. Students enjoy his fun and natural ability to lead a ride and appreciate his wide range of musical influences.   More about Dan…

He knows that if you are having fun while you exercise, then you will be likely to do it more often. He has been called a yogi on a bike more than once and understands that wellness is more than just physical, combining that with the mental, and spiritual aspects to create an inspiring experience. Don’t be fooled, though! Underneath his composed, prana-like ambience lies that youthful sense of play that helps us all remember life is to be fully and utterly enjoyed every minute! Keep your eyes peeled, you just never know where you’ll see Dan – in a yoga or barre class, on the fashion runway, a lululemon photo shoot, riding bikes with his lovely wife Elli, doing a CrossFit WOD, and even skydiving – oh yeah baby!!!
